Brain stimulation for depression

I have had depression for many years and have been thinking about transcranial magnetic stimulation. Do you have any thoughts?
In the last decade, doctors have been inserting electrodes in the brain for people with a variety of mental health disorders. The latest mental health disorder which is being treated with electrode stimulation of the brain is depression. The electrodes are placed in specific parts of the brain and stimulated at low or high frequencies. None of the surgeries are covered by medical insurance and surgery does have its own complications. So does this technique help?
Current analysis of the studies indicate that Transcranial magnetic stimulation for depression is just a little bit better than rubbish. The conclusion is that the treatment is only a choice for people who have failed all other treatments and have no other options left. However, you still need to have lots of money to undergo this surgery and some of the complications are worse than your depression-so think hard before you jump from the frying pain into the fire. Do not believe everything that doctors’ claim-medicine is after all a business.
