Is there any treatment for hair loss?

Every single day there is an article on hair loss and how to get it back with drugs or herbs. First, the facts- Rogaine, propecia, and spironolactone are absolutely garbage. Even after 20 years of daily application of these drugs, one will never grow more than 1-5 hair strands. Hair once gone is never coming back (alopecia areata is an exception).

The alternative health care industry has been heavily marketing an assortment of herbs and natural products for hair growth. Astonishing claims have been made such as hair growth in a week and completely hair recovery in a few weeks. Just like the pharmaceutical products, herbs for hair growth do not come cheap. The same herb has a variable cost depending on where and from whom you buy it.

The hair growth industry is nothing more than a scam. If you hate being bold and have money, you may opt for hair transplantation. If you have no money and hate being bold, wear a wig or a hat. Remember it is not what is on top of your head that counts- it is what is in between your ears (at least this is what I say to myself)
