Diagnosis of interstitial nephritis

How does one make a diagnosis if interstitial cystitis?
Unfortunately, the diagnosis of interstitial cystitis can be difficult. Many women go through useless tests because their physicians have no clue about this disorder. If you have been diagnosed with interstitial cystitis, you need to see a urologist. The ideal test for making a diagnosis of the disorder is cystoscopy. This involves general anesthesia and examining your bladder using a camera probe placed through the urethra. The bladder usually appears red, small and scarred. However, the findings at cystoscopy do not correlate with the symptoms that you may have. All other studies for investigating interstitial cystitis are a waste of money.
