I have been prescribed ciclopirox for a fungal nail infection but it is very
expensive. Is there an alternative medication?
There is a generic version available just ask your doctor. It is called
Penlac. Sorry to tell you but Penlac is a complete waste of your money. I
definitely do not recommend it. It is often prescribed for finger and toe nail
infections. Does jack shit. You can apply it all your life and nothing will
happen. For nail infections, you either need to get the nail removed or take a
pill for 6-12 months. Removing the nail is cheaper and the cure is immediate.
