Fungal infection of scalp

Recently I got diagnosed with a fungal infection of my scalp. My doctor prescribed me a topical antifungal agent. However, I have not seen any response.  Does this thing work?
What you have is tinea capitis. Your doctor is clueless. For tinea capitis, no topical medications work. You need to take something by mouth. There are some effective antifungal medications. Tell your doctor that you want a prescription for griseofulvin. It has the ability to penetrate the hair and keratin and will quickly get rid of the fungus.  You will need treatment for 4-6 weeks. There are also some other mediations, like fluconazole but these are expensive. Try griseofulvin it is cheap and effective.
Please dump your doctor. Shit- if your doctor does not know how to treat a simple fungal infection then it is unlikely that he/she knows anything useful.
