Cranberry juice for UTI


Can I drink cranberry juice for my UTI?
Sure, you can drink anything you want. Hydration is a the key when treating a UTI. The extra fluid will hopefully dilute the bacteria and wash them out. There are a lot of reports indicating that cranberry juice may offer benefit to women with UTI. This benefit for some unknown reason is only seen in 30% of patients. In any case, cranberry juice is not harmful. A few studies report that daily drinking of cranberry juice can also reduce recurrent UTI. How cranberry juice works is not known but probably related to its acidity. In any case, the more fluid you drink the better you will feel.
