Trichomonas treatment

I have been diagnosed with trichomonas infection and my doctor gave me a topical cream, I do not think it is working. Any suggestions?
Trichomonas is best treated with metronidazole. The drug is taken for 5 days. Some doctors do prescribe topical creams to be placed in the vagina but these products do not always work. The cure rate with topical products is very low. You need to take an oral pill.  In addition, for complete cure,  your sex partner also needs to be treated, otherwise he/she will be spreading the darn infection to others. Avoid sex until the drug therapy has been completed.
